Beautiful golden-yellow robe. After slight swirling, the first intense nose is marked by honey and notes of muscat. The high complexity of aromas is revealed little by little in candied fruits and fruit jelly. The palette widens onto dried fruits and a grilled, spicy note. The mouth begins as round and supple, becoming creamy and opulent. The fat reveals a high concentration. The long luscious finish confirms the vintage’s complexity. Honey rapidly gives way to a multitude of preserved and dried fruits. The aromatic range develops into a large variety of flavours. A wonderfully concentrated and complex matter progressing into perfect harmony and endless aromatic development. A vintage offering lengthy moments of tasting pleasure, which needs to be waited for to appreciate it for its true worth.

Beautiful brilliant straw yellow robe. Intense and complex nose: immediate dominance of ripe fruits, apricot jam and vanilla. Then come notes of honey, dried apricots, almond, citrus zest and the signature “Fargues” mineral freshness. The mouth is immediately round and full, perfectly opulent and elegant, never becoming heavy. The acidity balances the liqueur and the fat, even enhancing the wine’s opulence. Length becomes endless. Everything and more is present! Heralded by the nose, the complexity of flavours is remarkable. A lot of fruit: candied fruit, candied peel, roasted notes fill the mouth with just enough touches of fresh lemon and spice. This vintage is a perfect synthesis of complexity (1997), intensity (1990 or 1989), sophistication and elegance (1988) found in Château de Fargues wines. A wine with great aging potential.

This is an astounding Sauternes for the vintage. It presents a deep golden robe and exhales a spicy vanilla nose. Overflowing with generous fresh and lively aromas of honeyed citrus fruit, pear and creamy pineapple, it is probably sweeter than it appears, but leaves an impression on the palate of an almost dry wine, thanks to the acidity backing it up. Full-bodied, dazzlingly rich and exceptionally fresh, this high-precision Sauternes unfolds a finish of over 30 seconds. It is surprisingly young, as complex as it is marvellous.

The robe is a gorgeous golden yellow. The nose is intense and exceptionally pure. We find classic fruity aromas (apricot, fig, quince) but also the presence of citrus fruit (grapefruit). The floral aspect of the wine is also very pronounced, quite unusual. Woody nuances (vanilla, toasted bread) complete the palette of flavours. As a whole, the fragrance is complex, subtle and elegant. In the mouth, the attack is round and mellow. Very quickly the palate gives us sensations of harmony, balance and purity. This is a classic wine where nothing is excessive nor aggressive, yet it is persistent. It is extremely flattering and seductive even now, despite its apparently limitless aging potential. It is a wine with a bright future, all the more so given that it remains a reference for the estate; a true classic. Not to be missed!

The robe is already a clear yellow. An intense nose of fresh fruit: pineapple, passion fruit and mango are accompanied by pleasant floral notes (rose, acacia) and a hint of vanilla. On the palate this wine is very expressive: good volume and substance, perfect alcohol/sugar/acidity balance. Overall it is an extremely elegant and flavourful wine. A good number of people are impressed by the complexity, mellow and length that will develop with maturing.

Lovely glowing golden robe. Despite a first rather closed nose, its clarity and opulence make it highly seductive. Moreover, aroma development in the glass reveals extraordinary complexity: light mineral notes follow the first rather fruity marmalade notes. Then the vanilla and menthol notes take over, finishing on a delightful apricot perfume. The mouth attack is lively, almost mineral, then its complexity and opulence impress. Perfect balance. Just a few years development are needed for this wine to make this massive complexity accessible.

Beautiful glossy golden robe. Intense nose of ripe fruit (mirabelle, apricot, exotic notes of mango) and dried fruit (fig, raisins, quince) followed by white fruit: pear, wild peach. The nose develops onto more spicy notes: saffron and curry, then grilled notes, finishing on fresh mint and eucalyptus aromas. The nose of this vintage is exceptionally complex and is just asking to develop further. On the palate, the attack is luxurious, with uncommon volume and opulence.
